Joseph Martinez ranks among California’s most knowledgeable and experienced land use and entitlement experts. Mr. Martinez pioneered the field of investigatory land development analysis and forensic land use research, which has dramatically increased land values for his clients. Mr. Martinez was hired by the Los Angeles County Counsel’s office to lead a team of forensic land use investigators to root out corruption inside the country’s Department of Regional Planning. Over eight years they found more than 700 cases of illegal subdivision approvals and official bribery that helped recover millions of dollars in lost revenues for county taxpayers.
Mr. Martinez has represented Fortune 500 companies, large government agencies, investment groups, developers, and individual land owners for nearly four decades. He is headquartered in Ventura County and has managed projects in five western states.
